How the global agricultural system could be improved through blockchain technology.
September 14, 2021 @ 10:00 - 12:00
DLT4Agrifood is organized by the DLT4All to discuss how the global agricultural system could be improved through blockchain technology.
About this event
According to the United Nations, about 690 million people, or 8.9% of the world population are hungry while 40% of the food in industrialized countries is wasted. With Covid 19, the situation is worse and the effects on the food and agricultural sector asks for prompt measures to ensure that food supply chains are kept alive to mitigate the risk of hunger especially on the poor and the most vulnerable. DLT4Agrifood is an international online event organized by the DLT4All project partners from Cyprus, Greece and Italy to discuss how the global agricultural system could be improved through the use of blockchain technology. Various use cases within the domain are presented, including smart contracts used for Mediterranean fisheries. The event will close with a round table discussion involving all experts that will also answer questions from the public. If you want to get a deep dive into this topic, do not miss our online event!
